You're actually expecting folks who couldn't set up VCR timers to
configure _subnets_?
no, I'm expecting subnets to be automatically configured by the border
router. when the prefix assigned to the home is a /48, like it should
be, it's not unreasonable for a home router to divide it up into fixed
sized chunks and hand out those chunks to interior routers that ask for
them.
