FWIW, I've had good success of late with acrosync
(https://acrosync.com/), which runs natively under Windows and
does not require the Cygwin environment. There are apparently
Mac and mobile/iOS versions as well. Of course, if one is
running a Cygwin environment over Windows for other purposes, it
becomes a matter of taste, and Acrosync is not free.
