Well, if you're a young whippersnapper, you wouldn't have seen that :-)
certainly this works just fine:
Depends on the OS. SunOS 4, that probably would have choked (or maybe it
was Irix that had what seemed to me to be a remarkably small argv limit).
Somewhere in the range of SunOS 4.0 to 4.1.1U1 I ran into the problem
when I did a wildcard match in a for the time large directory. I know
it was on a sun3x kernel architecture box, so I'm pretty sure it is in
that range (probably 4.1).
