For a *real* horrorshow, UREP on a Gould UTX/32 box (for starters, the bisync card was busticated, and didn't char-stuff a DLE DLE on transmit, meaning that if you tried to send data that had a real DLE in it, the remote end would happily munch the character following the DLE. It only got worse from there)
