lists and the conventions they should adopt

I know that FROM_DAEMON tries to catch most bulk mailings defined as mail
to multiple users I guess.

Where is the guideline that outlines what set of rules one way and two way
mailing lists should adopt? 

I want to educate some mailing lists that don't use formal mailing list
software on how to format their message headers.
