I want to educate some mailing lists that don't use formal mailing
list software on how to format their message headers.

MINIMAL:

        1) messages should be ^TO the list by a name (ie
procmail(_at_)(_dot_)(_dot_)(_dot_)(_dot_)) rather than sent to individual
members.

ie if my email address is 'luomat(_at_)peak(_dot_)org' then no list should match

* ^TOluomat(_at_)peak\(_dot_)org

        2) the "Precedence" line should be set to 'bulk' or 'list'

        3) the 'from ' line should have *-owner or *-request in it.

NICETIES:
        4) a good distinct "X-" header, such as 'X-Mailing-List'

        5) Resent-* headers are also a nice addition

Those are just off the top of my head.....
