Hi,
I'd like to appreciate the comments of everyone who said that
what I intended was STUPID. I needed a kick in the head.
I am not going to send all my spam to congress.
What I am going to do is send ONE letter giving a total number of
letters received, total bytes, number of spam received, and total spam
bytes. I will be sending this to just my senators and my congressman,
not all 535 congress critters, which I don't think is unreasonable.
My apologies to everyone, particularly Ms. Hampton, who is
getting a copy of this.
BTW, does anyone have a procmail recipe that will total up volume
and numbers of messages?

Contacting *ONLY* your representatives in Washington is wiser than
emailing recklessly. However, I have another suggestion. If it is your aim
to inform your representatives concerning the effect spam has on you, then
try it this way;

Collect your data, and process it into real intelligence, that is,
something that they can really use during debates in the House and Senate.
Use available databases and spreadsheets. Then use a printer - either B&W
laser or color for added impact. Organize it all and print it, have it
bound properly into presentation folders, and send it to D.C.

This means that you should NOT use the internet for delivery AT ALL in
order that you won't be confused with a spammer yourself! (Remember, spam
is in the eye of the beholder. And if the intended receipent doesn't like
it, then he'll say it's spam. And he'll be right.)

The presentation will be more impressive than it would be as email, and
will likely command a more favorable response. And it'll prevent you from
being branded as a spammer, nutcase or just a pest.

Russ.
