I think .forward files are ignored unless they have permission 600. The
same probably for .procmailrc. Further, on our sparc stations recently
the default for sendmail seems to have been to ignore .forward files
altogether, but that could also have been to do with something like "all
directoryies above the .forward file must not be group or world readable".
