Auth...port 113 request to clients

2001-12-09 09:33:21
Hi ALL,

I'm new to this list and would like to ask for help on an issue that is
driving me nuts.

I'm using Red Hat Linux release 7.1 with Kernel 2.4.2-2 on an i586 and a
nicelly patched machine.
I'm running Sendmail-8.11.6-2.7.1 and imap-2000c-10.

My problem is that clients that want's to get their email from our servers
get a request for auth on port 113 like this:

13:28:27.067130 < 123.123.123.4.3325 > 123.231.132.17.113: S
2492781699:2492781699(0) wi)

So this is what i want to stop....the mail server from requesting a 113 port
auth protocol.
I'm pretty much satisfied with the ip of my clients if they always come from
within my own network.

Any help is welcome.

Thanks in advance for your help.
