Yes, but I believe this in the /etc/procmailrc file will accomplish the
above as well:
:0
* something here
{ SWITCHRC }
Not tested, but I'd be shocked if that didn't do it; and
I'm certain privs are dropped when we leave the file that
had elevated privs.
I agree the above should work (that it what I got from reading the man
page), but I found that even though a 'something here' was matched, and
the log said that the SWITCHRC was actioned (sorry, away from my logs) it
kept processing the /etc/procmailrc.
The idea I posted did work....for me, and bailing from /etc/procmailrc to
~/.procmailrc works a treat (well sort of, I have other issues, but thats
another story).
My process is only run with user previliges, as these are retained from a
process 'pre-procmail', so I guess DROPPRIVS is not necessary (I added it
in because I saw and example in the achives).
I am very 'green' with this so I would not rule out a fundamental mistake
on my part!
