And why are they listed as "x"? /var/spool/mail/{username} should be
an mbox FILE, not a directory.
Not necessarily. But make sure both ORGMAIL and DEFAULT start off like
"/var/spool/mail/$LOGNAME/", so with a slash at the end.
According to his other 'ls' entries they should probably be files set to
'-rw-rw----' and owned by '$LOGNAME mail'
/var/spool/mail is "root mail"
but /var/spool/mail/$LOGNAME" is '$LOGNAME Domain Users" -- why??
If /var/spool/mail/honeyd were a directory then using 'ls -lsa' would have
listed its contents.
[root(_at_)mail samba]# ls /var/spool/ -lsa 24 drwxrwxrwx 3 root mail
20480 May 31 14:09 mail
[root(_at_)mail samba]# ls /var/spool/mail/honeyd -lsa 4 -rwx------ 1 honeyd
Domain Users 3098 May 31 13:46 /var/spool/mail/honeyd
