Forget the GPL. I point you in the direction of the libspf license
which is a derivative of the Apache license. Its such a great license
since everyone benefits:

/*

*/

The key points are made in 1. and 2. Anyone can use it, anyone can
distribute it. The only requirement is to provide credit to its
creators. Anyone can make money with this, and implement it anywhere
and anyway they see fit. Such a license is befitting of something we
want absolutely anyone and everyone to employ. This aides in getting
SPF into commercial products as well as open-source.

Cheers,

James
