'libspf' isn't only the most generic name possible - it's also a name

library for spf'.

I'm not sure which rock you crawled out from behind, but this is common
practise. Let me give you some examples:

C -> libc
GNOME -> glibgnome
XMMS -> libxmms
XML -> libxml
CURL -> libcurl
TCL -> libtcl
PNG -> libpng

Are you seeing a trend here?

'libspf' being the most generic and most official=looking name, it also
sets a precedent that others who are interested in implementing
spf-handling libraries will feel inclined to follow - which led to
'libspf-alt', which was renamed 'libspf2' because from the viewpoint of
its authors it really wasn't a situation of one official library
'libspf' versus an alternative but non-official 'libspf-alt', but two
separate and  equally official-or-not-but-who-really-cares libraries,
'libspf' and 'libspf2' where the '2' does _not_ imply a version number.

Listen. I'm going to be rather blunt here. I'm going to iterate some
real clear logic here thats common life everywhere.

FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED.

I believe thats enough to reiterate my feeling of this situation. That
being said, please drop it. Re: libSPF, I don't need to, I should not
have to, and I am not going to rename it. Wayne has illustrated
perfectly to the entire community the cloth he is cut from. I have done
the same.

I've pissed off some of you with my harping, perhaps the sting will
subside. The rest of you, of whom business this is not, I apologize for
raising the issue in a public place, my only goals were to raise
awareness through demands that he rename. Now that said awareness has
been accomplished, and Wayne isn't going to Do the Right Thing (tm) this
is done.

If you have questions regarding this, I will gladly discuss them off
list.

Cheers,

James
