I also fully agree with this statement. I also agree that I don't
need a lawyer to read me a bed time story, so I don't need a lawyer
to read me the GPL. It is incompatable, therefore a real problem,
IMHO.

It is with reservation that I also agree with this point. I have great
admiration for the IETF. That said, I do believe this to be the
case. It seems to me, the folks are dismissive of the GPL for reasons
that are principally political. The FSF has done a fine job of
making the GPL a clear legal issue. Ignoring the law is just silly.
The GPL is here to stay.
