Over the last 22 hours the rate averages almost 2000 per day and appears
to be accelerating significantly. I'm doing this by hand, so I don't
have the overnight period broken down. The last 15.5 hours had a rate of
nearly 4800 per day.
I'm going to calculate the number of days it will take to reach 1,000,000
*registered* domains. Note that this assumes a linear adoption rate,
although intuition obviously suggests an exponential one.
1,000,000 = 70,000 + d * 5,000
d = (1,000,000 - 70,000) / 5,000
d = 186
At a constant rate of adoption, we will have 1,000,000 *registered* domains
in 186 days, or about 6 months. So by February, we will have 1,000,000
registered domains.
