While the disbanding came as a bit of a surprise

LOL

I now see why it was a necessary move

I don't, MARID protocol-03 was an excellent base for different
scopes incl. the infamous PRA, and I don't think that M$ will
use an experimental SPF protocol-04 for whatever experimental
Sender-Id (tm) PRA (pat. pend.).

This actually makes sense. Why?

Divide and conquer.

We went into MARID holding that banner

My banner is and was "RMX" formerly known as classic SPF, and
now labelled spf2.0/mfrom (or maybe spf2.0/mfrom,helo as soon
as there is a HELO document).

we're coming out with a patchwork quilt.

But at least somebody claims to have patented it. I come out
with the same old "RMX" banner and a grudge, the same events
can have very different effects.

But the market wants 87, 89, 91 and diesel too.

Don't forget snake oil.

MARID may be dead, but SPF is not.

Sure, does it make sense to look for further minor bugs and
typos in protocol-03 now, or is a protocol-04 already in the
pipeline ?
