Also, mailing lists are very much a techie-centric phenomenon.

I do not believe there can be a discussion with you if you start with
premises like "mailing lists are expandable, it it not a big problem
if we do not support them".

Huh? SPFv1 already requires roaming users to connect back home with
an authenticated channel.

I hesitated before replying because I'm not sure you understand SPFv1
at all. SPFv1 does NOT "require roaming users to connect back home
with an authenticated channel." (Hint: SPFv1 authenticates the
enveloppe, not the header, so I can still put From:bortzmeyer(_at_)nic(_dot_)fr
even if I'm not currently in my office.)

Quite a few people have come back at me with not-so-polite comments

Your messages seem to indicate that you do not know a lot about email
and about SPF. May be we are wrong but it really seems you suffer from
the "Hey, guys, I just had a great idea" syndrome.

yet not a singe one of those people has given me an example other
than mailing lists and forwarding. We already have problems with
these things in the SPFv1 world.

For instance, this sentence is so blatantly false that we can
seriously doubt your seriousness (SPFv1 has no problems with mailing
lists).
