Most of the early implementors are going to be open-source software authors. Many of those people are on this list. Without the cooperation of these innovators, things aren't going to get very far. I think it's misguided of Meng to dismiss these vital individuals in favor of a private group. Microsoft is a follower in this area, not a leader; their email servers tend to be a step or two behind the state of the art, and I doubt they have any running SPF checking code yet.Don't forget that Microsoft makes more than an MTA. They also own and operate MSN, webtv and Hotmail. To my knowledge, they will support inbound SenderID checking immenently on those services. Don't confuse Microsoft's product line with their ability and propensity to influence the industry, they are not the same thing at all. Lets not forget their control over monies flowing into the hands of certain legal parties... *cough* pro SCO *cough*. Microsoft is just simply not worth dealing with here. Colourful language and insults aside, its so clear. Am I the ONLY one here who just doesn't give a flying !_(_at_)#($ what they think? Who cares. They write the worlds most deployed, and most exploited software, operating by generally the worlds least educated computer users and are the reason for many of the attacks and problems on the Internet. They have a stringent history of Antitrust violations, lying, breaking one law and standard after another. Anyone remember when Win2k was released? Anyone have a copy of the 'A' root server's utilization? Yeah, lets sell everyone a product that statically checks the first hostname in the resolver list only falling back upon failure. So great! I would LOVE to work with such amazing developers with insight that warrants unprecedented levels of acknowledgement for all the GREAT things they have done and all the wonderful hoards of money they have accumulated. Why the hell are we even considering talking with them further. Its quite clear that their goal is. To assimilate and to move on. Of course they are going to SAY what you want to hear. Come on look at my left hand, come on , look at my left hand, no no don't look at my right, come on good boy, look at my left hand!
