What's that supposed to be ?  It said "Lines: 239" behind the
GMaNe gateway, and in fact there are 239 base64 encoded lines.

It's an S/MIME signature of the type mandated by the US DoD for
communications from contractors.  You post sort of makes my point about the
value of S/MIME is solving the forgery problem.
