Strange, why should John want to lie in an interview ? I'll
forward this question to the ASRG mailing list, SPF was used
before the weird "Sender ID" was "invented", we all know this.

It may just be that he was misquoted or quoted out of context. That
does
happen now and then.

He may have meant it for SID, since that really has not been tried in any
serious way, but it does look strange that he would say this about SPF.

Nah, I recall the message in MARID and I recall saying to myself, "Gawd,
what an a-hole!"

John shows a bad habit of ignoring what he doesn't want to read unless its
coming from the Crockers and the like. His statement "Despite occassional
comments to the contrary..." said it all. You're not going to convince a
person like this.

Obvious SPF was in use. There were plenty of people providing SPF stats,
Wayne including myself talked about SPF stats quite often. Then this guy
continues to make moronic statements like this? I even remember one
message where it seems he finally took the opportunity to do some small SPF
testing himself and produced a some stupid tidbit result like if he was the
ONLY one who ever has done anything like this. All I did was shake my
head.
