Anyway last I heard the reason that msie doesn't do PNGs right is that
the graphics lib they are using to render the jpegs, gifs, bmps, pngs,
etc. doesn't support alpha-channels so it would require a massive
rewrite of a lot of code. So yes I like pngs, but I recognize that not
all browsers support everything I'd like. My dream support would include
xhtml+svg support like what http://www.mozilla.org/projects/svg/
mentions. I have a nonstandard build of mozilla that has svg in it, but
it has a few issues yet. I hear that firefox is planning on having it
turned on in the default builds sometime between spring and summer.
I have a few pages that mix xhtml css and svg in the same document that
use a few techniques that according to the docs should work but they
don't *yet*.
