As others have mentioned, the subject of "authorization" vs
"authentication" vs "validation" vs ... has been discussed many times,
both here and on the MARID list. I expressed my view on this subject
several times, but Meng didn't apply my suggested changes and the
draft remains pretty much as Meng had it.
Uh, I just double checked. I asked Meng to change most uses of
"authentication" to "authorization" in the mengwong-spf-0[01] drafts,
but he didn't. However, somewhere during the MARID process(?), this
change did take place and lentczner-spf-00 used the term "authorize".
Maybe that is why I left the draft the way <previous-author> had it.
