It's fairly pointless to draw fine distinctions between the variations of
the technique. SES is effectively just BATV with a slightly different
syntax, and much more careful work put in to specification of the options
for creating the cryptographic token. The most important thing they all
lack is a proper study of the practical consequences of using the
rechnique on a large scale.
