was in fact still in flux and not yet standardized, at
that time MARID was still an active IETF WG.
Sadly, the README.Debian that note came out of has a file date of
11 Apr 2006. The Exim 4.50 docs included with sarge have the same
file date, but includes the line: "Edition for Exim 4.50, February
2005". I assume this was the base document date the maintainers
edited. In any case, the package is more recent than summer '04.
