Just to confirm what others have said: When you use the -jar option on
the command line, the classpath is ignored. This has nothing to do
with Saxon, and nothing to do with the operating system, it is a
"feature" of Java itself.

I've heard the classpath is going to be dropped in the upcoming Java 7... 
should make the -jar vs -cp issue a thing of the past.
