I need to do something like $items/item[Code not in $codes] where $codes

$items/item[not(Code = $codes)]
How is this done?
The "=" operator will act on a node set operand by comparing each
member of the node set with the other operand. If any of the
comparisons are true, the result of the comparison is true. If all
of the comparisons are false, the result of the comparison is false.
I hope this helps.
