Roger,
What you might find is that while the core will remain written in some
other language, additional functionality will be written in XSLT
itself (when we get modules).
For example the core of Java is written c, but a lot of what we know
as Java is written in Java.
So you never know, future XSLT authors could be calling functions that
implementors have implemented in XSLT.
