Re: [fetchmail] Re: fetchmail: header problems

Well, I did it but now all the mails are being delivered to the default
mail account p1.

My fetchmailrc looks like this now,

set syslog
set postmaster "postmaster"
set nobouncemail

Ok, I missed this (and so have you apparently). There *MUST* be a space after the "no" and before the "bouncemail". Another case of you needing to RTFM.

set nospambounce
set properties ""
poll giaspn01.vsnl.net.in with proto POP3
envelope Delivered-To
user shanky123 with password xxxx is shanky123 here
forcecr to * here

Ok, so you've told it to deliver all email to shanky123. If you want multidrop you must use:

user shanky123 with password xxxx is * here

If you go read the man page examples you'll see what I mean. I obviously didn't understand what you were trying to achieve.

I would also strongly suggest you make use of the --configdump option to see what fetchmail makes of your .config file. That way you can check that you've got it right.

The header of an email delivered at default account is given below.
Plus there is a header of a mail which has bounced to the sender.

X-Fetchmail-Warning: recipient address shanky123(_dot_)pn1(_at_)pn123(_dot_)vsnl(_dot_)net(_dot_)in didn't match any local name

Ok, you MUST tell fetchmail that pn123.vsnl.net.in is a local domain. Use the "localdomains" keyword.

Try this copy and paste:

#BEGIN
defaults proto pop3
set syslog
set postmaster "postmaster"
set no bouncemail
set no spambounce

poll giaspn01.vsnl.net.in with proto POP3
       envelope Delivered-To
       localdomains pn123.vsnl.net.in
       user shanky123 with password xxxx
       forcecr
       to * here
#END

Well, of COURSE it'll fail on that one. There isn't any single Delivered-To header, or anything beyond the To: header. What do you expect, fetchmail to guess?

While I'm at it, what version of fetchmail are you playing with?
