Interesting list of language names.
Do people still speak Tatar? Even more interesting...
Funny thing is my linguistics professors at college claimed there
were somewhere around 5,000 languages spoken. I suppose many of them
don't have the gumption to register with ISO however.
5,000 languages won't fit into a 26*26 size namespace. (26*26 == 676)
No I don't know what criteria they used to distinguish dialect from
language. Being linguists they're more interested in spoken differences
than written ones. But for our purposes written differences are important.
