A lot of mailing list software (majordomo/LISTSERV, to cite specific
examples) do this, too, before subscribing the user -- so this isn't
completely specific to file robots. And some active mailing lists will
cause a larger data-dump than most file robots!
Well, if we want to get detailed, those are permanent permissions while
file-robots need to be temporary (oops, resent a request from last week).
Regardless, these are both different from vacation/virus notifications
("can I send you a vacation message?").
