Just to press this point about the DNS:

      zones are not a semantic construct that is visible to users of the DNS.

      In other words, they do not exist as part of the name space, per se.  They 
are strictly an administrative construct.
  

Before we get all wrapped up in a discussion about zones again, let me point out that the ADSP specification does not rely on zones at all, which I think you will agree is the proper treatment.

Wildcards don't do the right things, which is one reason why ADSP doesn't depend on them, either.
