Unfortunately, it is rarely based on the rfc2822.From field. It is,
instead, typically based on rfc2821.mailfrom.
Most MTAs do not perform any existence test on the RFC2822 From
field. It's not a "free" test. Any test would be a RFC 2822
operation based on RFC 2821 rules or whatever rules the Working Group
agrees upon.
