I think the restrictions on scope are reasonable for now, however, one
possible course forward would be to recharter after the current work is
complete to look at, say, the acceditation problem. Should the possibility
of a recharter be mentioned? The answer is probably no, but I thought I'd
ask.
My own preference is to leave the future to the future. I have never seen the
benefit of saying that at sometime in the future we will discuss whether to do
some additional tasks. The one exception is when there is a concern that the
current effort has "forgotten" to cover something. Then, it can be useful to
cite that thing to show that it is explicitly deferred.
Finally, I don't know about anyone else, but I for one am starting to
have trouble keeping track of all the issues rasied on the documents and
charter. Perhaps we could start using an issue tracking system sooner
rather than later.
Good point.
However,
Since the current focus is on getting the working groups chartered, perhaps we
should make that list the first thing to do after chartering?
The theory, here, is that maintaining focus is going to be a continuing
challenge for this group, and creating a list invites debate about the list,
when getting chartered is the immediate requirement.
