So if you're trying to convince me that DHCP sucks, consider me
convinced.  But that doesn't do a thing to convince me that SRV
configuration of MUAs doesn't suck.


I'm trying to convince you that they all suck for some portion of the
market. The market's answer to this has been to use them all, choosing
according to their specific environment.
the market is stupid and shortsighted. it shouldn't be used to justify an engineering choice.
