If I write to you asking if you're coming to the meeting, and you
write back saying you are, or write back saying you aren't, the loop
is done. This is not complicated.
I'm not sure if he's talking about the case where the reply gets stuck in a
spam/greylist. The TCP equivalent would be a lost ACK on a packet.
Or if he's talking about the case where you've invited Fred to the meeting,
Fred accepts/declines, but then *Fred* is unsure about whether his response
was received by your meeting software...
