Hi Ken,
and the first release candidate is now available!
Well done.
You can download it here:
http://download-mirror.savannah.gnu.org/releases/nmh/nmh-1.7-RC1.tar.gz
I used https and it worked fine. Can we switch to that from now on;
those that can't handle TLS for some odd reason will know to knock it
off.
(I've also include a MIME external-body pointer to it below, which nmh
should be able to use).
Yes, that worked, and also after I s/http/&s/ to it.
The NEWS file included in the distribution has a reasonably complete
list of the significant changes.
I think the order of 1.7's sections could be better, especially as users
often don't read to the end, the swines.
NOTABLE CHANGES
This first as it has a brief overview of significant benefits.
NEW FEATURES
Then this detailed list, with the things that might bite them first,
e.g. "If you are upgrading an existing installation you should look for
old configuration files... and merge".
BUG FIXES
Some of these might affect scripts that expect certain output, or their
normal draft had a BCC and an alias in From that they were happy being
treated as a username.
DEPRECATED FEATURES
Hopefully, they're still reading and will get warning of what's being
axed next.
OBSOLETE FEATURES
Lastly, what's gone. I don't think any of those will affect many.
What do you think? I'm happy to juggle it. Changes on the 1.7-release
branch?
