Hi Bernard El-Hagin! I'm a UNIX geek, spam hunter, and a virusfighter!
will this weed out mail that's over 10kB because of an attachment or just
mail that has more than 10kB in its body?
Either. An "attachment" is simply an encoded file that is in the
body of the e-mail. Most mail reader software is written so that
attachments are not "seen" as part of the message so that you can read
the messge in it easier.
You may want to look for a POP3 client that can choose not to
download certain pieces of e-mail based on its size. Fetchmail for UNIX
offers this.
