That's your problem there. Your .forward file should read at least:
"|/home/pierre/bin/procmail #pierre"

The problem is that he used a shout mark instead of a pipe character,
not so much the form of what follows. The #pierre part is not very
important here, as long as he is the only one using the Procmail in
/home/pierre/bin (which of course he might not be, in the long run).

There's a somewhat more elaborate one in the FAQ.

Yes. The original FAQ that comes with the distribution explains the
#pierre part. The Filtering Mail FAQ has some additional model
.forward files to try if the one in your local documentation doesn't
work for you (but you should read man procmail first and try whatever
you find there before you start experimenting). The not-so-mini
"mini-FAQ" has links to both of the previous and an explanation of
how (a variation of) the standard .forward actually is supposed to
work. <http://www.iki.fi/~era/procmail/mini-faq.html>

The other thing to watch out for when installing procmail as a general
user of the system, is the sendmail restricted shell (smrsh). Sometimes,
smrsh is not configured to allow procmail to run from a .forward .

In this case I think you'd get some sort of bounce message with a
somewhat obscure error message which is nevertheless something along
the lines of what Chris wrote. ("Address is unsafe for mailing to
programs" or "procmail is not available for sendmail programs" or
"Cannot use & in command" or something like that.)
