Lars, he's modifying the messages he receives from the list, so that when HE replies, the list automatically goes to the list instead of the author (or reply-all to list and author). The list software isn't going to "strip this", since the reply-to that he's adding isn't sent back to the list.

OTOH, I run a reply-to to the list on my outgoing messages - added by my mail client, not by procmail, to encourage followups to the list rather than to me offlist (you would be stunned at the number of people who take an on-list reply as an invite to follow up the remainder of their technical woes with you offlist). Yes, it makes personal replies a little more work - and rightfully so.
