I've had these two lines in my .procmailrc for a while and I
constantly monitor my log using `tail -f' and haven't noticed
any collisions of message logs so I don't think you need a global
LOCKFILE (but I'd like to know if you do!).
I've seen plenty of mixed log-sessions. Depends on
how much you log, and in how many steps. As has been
discussed here, you can pile up your log-texts in a
variable, and use TRAP (see man procmailrc) to echo
that.
