Yea, the list admin doesn't seem to track the list much.
I suppose I could just filter the messages to /dev/null, but I'd rather not
waste all the processing steps for each message when they are just going
to end up in the bit bucket.
Why not BOUNCE the messages? Sure, you should try to uns*b first, but if
the system won't cooperate, and the admin won't respond, that seems like
the easy way to resolve it. Of course, this can be done within procmail
(using an exitcode), but if you operate your own mailhost, and know that
nobody else will be on the system subscribed to procmail, you could bounce
the procmail sender. The messages will be deposited in the listadmin's
mailbox, and then perhaps after enough of them, s/he would do something
about the subscription.
FTR, I just checked, and the server does appear to successfully send out a
password to my subscribed address (I had one before though). Are you sure
it isn't getting chewed up in a spam filter? I'd have suggested a possible
RBL at the MTA level, but the message is delivered by the same host that
list messages are delivered from.
