Yes, I understand how it is supposed to work, and I have tried
that, but never get a response and am still subscribed.

But he's (she's?) probably right about your email address having
changed. Even if you are reading your email from the web, the
mail address that you originally used to subscribe is still the
one that Mailman will be sending confirmation request messages
to.

Probably your ISP has misconfigured mail or DNS or something.

Anyway, I think it is a problem in Mailman's design. I hate those
Mailman passwords. Rwth-aachen.de should have stuck with
Smartlist, which wouldn't be having this problem.

I had a similar problem before. I think I wasn't getting any
mail, but when I tried to resubscribe, mailman told me I was
already subscribed. I couldn't get any response out of Mailman
because when I tried to communicate through the web interface, it
sent emails to the address which wasn't making it through. I
think I resubscribed under a different address.

They probably only look at mail to procmail-admin every 3
or 4 weeks. I would dev/null the emails. Your ISP and
rwth-aachen.de pay the price for not doing it right.
