YOU don't identify it as a maildir. $MAILDIR/ doesn't mean the file that
follows is maildir format - $MAILDIR is the cwd. If the file is indeed a
mail DIRECTORY, then yes, it doesn't require a lockfile. If you're using
MAILDIR, you should probably indicate such abive the recipe.
