it eats up my 768 MByte of memory...
It uses 768MByte of Ram by itself without extra cf files? I think
there is something very broken on your system.
Well, duh. ;) Have you seen some of dozens of unnecessarily
repetitive calls to formail, sed, grep, whatever that she runs
from procmail? Probably a few perls in there, too, but who knows?
If you read the BTS from Debian to spamassassin, you know, there is a
memory issue wit 3.0, it is fixed with the suggestion to decrease the
"--max-children 5" (under 2.63/2.64 I have 15)
Well, I don't read it, because -- as I have stated a couple of times --
I do not use SA. I have my procmail spamtraps, and they work better
and (far) faster for me than SA. And with much less load.
Yes, it took some careful thought to set up, and lots of work
and also some maintenance work for quite a while. I pretty much
leave it alone these days, though. It's time for a revision, though,
as some of it has long since gotten long-in-tooth.

I don't use any such thing. No bash scripts, no blacklists beyone about
