You can change your hostname in OS X by editing the file /etc/hostconfig
and either changing the line that looks like HOSTNAME=-AUTOMATIC- or if
that line does not exist you can add a line so the end result is
something like HOSTNAME=yourhostname.domain
This change will take effect upon rebooting. To effect an immediate
change use the hostname command (i.e. sudo hostname yourhostname.domain).
