Well, sometimes ... About half the time just a reboot helps ... :-(
The following will help you to kill abandon IMAP jobs. I have it in
my crontab:
ps h -o etime,pid -C imapd | awk '/^ *2.:..:/ {print "kill -1 "$2}' | sh
