That's because gmail does not consider your posts a new mail when
received. A simple work-a-round is to not use gmail smtp, but relay
via your provider and use a gmail "From:" addr. At least that is what
I do and I see mail on the lists that I post.
I believe what the OP meant was that subsequent messages in a thread may be
replies to other participants on that thread, not directly to
him. catching the subject line, or even using a separate
message-id-to-references messageid cache (ala formail and some temporary
header rewrites) is probably the most effective way to ensure other
messages in a thread continue to be identified.
To the OP: PLEASE trim quotes in your replies to provide context - it's a
waste of bandwidth to reply with one or two lines to 50 lines of prior content.
