RE: OT: Spam traps (was: Forwarders)

2004-01-12 13:20:43

Such mails should never go to spam trap addresses. By
definition, no legitimate mails whatsoever should ever go to
spam trap addresses. That's why spam traps are so effective.

OK say I want to cause moveon.org or elect-bush-2004.com to be blacklisted.

All I need to do is to use a web crawler to scan the web for addresses and
then enter each one in turn into the 'signup request' web form. There are
bound to be some spam traps in the mix.

There are gangs of politically motivated hackers who spend their time
arranging exactly this type of thing.
