RE: Patent license

2004-08-25 04:56:37
Per your own article referred:
http://www.winntmag.com/Windows/Article/ArticleID/4652/4652.html
"Digital had sued Microsoft for copying portions of VMS"

resulting in:
"the out-of-court settlement resulted in the Microsoft/Digital alliance"

When a settlement results from a lawsuit for "copying portions of <something>",
thats an indication
of "stolen". The fact that they settled out of court and it never went to
trial means it may never
be proven for fact in civil court. But when the settlement happens its an
indication there may be
substance to the claim.

[Nico Kadel-Garcia]
Windows NT from DEC by hiring David Cutler and his gang of
software pirates...

Umm... Microsoft paid Digital millions for the technology and people
used in Windows NT; I don't see how they "stole" anything.
