I agree with William, I am interested in talking about DJBDNS, but not 
everyone on the list is, so we should be considerate of them.

As I said before, posting something off-topic is OK, in moderation. Some of it
actually helps form a stronger community. I'm not sure how to gauge what is
"good off-topic" vs. "bad off-topic".

Perhaps we could ask people to limit themselves to one post on an off-topic 
thread?  That would at least keep the same 2-4 people from beating a topic to 
death when most readers don't care about the topic.

The temptation to reply to something just to get the last word in is often 
quite strong.  Hopefully asking people to exercise some self-control when it's 
off-topic won't be too onerous.
